A New Start...Amazing Change

It seems like there are no combination of words that can truly describe the magnitude of what just happened with respect to the inauguration of our 44th President Of The United States Barack Obama. In short all I can truly say is that this moment in time is AMAZING!!!

I had the opportunity to be in D.C. for the inauguration and the vibe was electric. I voted for President Obama and I was even at Grant Park for that celebration, however it never truly sunk in until I made it into D.C. Fresh off a twelve hour road trip we head to the capitol. Barackomania was in full force. His picture was everywhere, welcome banners posted all over the city or district..whatever D.C. is,welcoming President Obama and his family to the White House. Vendors are selling everything from Barakonaculars to Obama Pajamas...(Ojamas)...I am not lying about that...lol.

The urban radio station changed its name to Obama radio. Anybody who claims to have any type of fame was there for this moment.

I am so grateful and fortunate to be alive during this time in the history of the world. The moment President Obama was sworn in I was overcome with emotion and the reality of what was happening.

At the risk of sounding cliche I know for sure that anything is possible. This moment in time in my opinion is so much larger than America electing our first black president. This moment speaks to resilience, focus and trust in God.

I know President Obama is the new leader of the United States of America, however God runs this and it is more clear than ever before.

"Father Father"

Photobucket

The United States is the greatest country in the world and I feel so grateful to live here. What I have noticed in this time of such great change is the new commitment to family. Our President-Elect Barack Obama represents the example of of what we are moving toward when it comes to taking our families back.

I've been through a few stages in my life where I have questioned why America specifically African-Americans are in such a horrible condition. I went through my thought process and pointed fingers at the history of our country when it comes to the destruction of our families. That thought process has merit, however we have to move toward changing this situation for ourselves. We can't wait for change to happen to us we have to make it happen.

It is time to reclaim our families and make this world and this country as great as it should be. Usually I don't have too many soapbox moments but I was prompted to write this because of a song I heard from an artist by the name of NYOIL called "Father Father" on this site http://whereisdad.ning.com/. It really touched me because I am a Father and sometimes it really does get hard, but it made me realize that we have to lead the charge to rebuild our families.

Truly it is on me. I Am A Father and I Love My Family!!

The Video for this song will be launched on Jan 12th. I look forward to sharing it with you.
